Voyager Home Screen(vHome) is a FREE ware helps you customize your S60's home screen with big clock, start menu, weather, news ticker,Google,fav contact,smart dialing ,etc.

This is what looks like after you select city and news channel, enable 2 rows shortcuts.

Features like Google, weather, news , Operator logo, big clock are pretty straight forward, if you do not like a certain feature, just press C to disable it.press left/right on to-do bar and news bar could switch item.

Quick task switch: we use the red end key to switch between running tasks,it's lot easier than pressing home key and then select, also you will never quit java apps like Opera Mini/Gmail by accidentally pressing red key.

Smart dialing: just type one number for one letter , to find any contact fast.Like 2455 for Bill. You can use this for apps,too. Like 46245 for Gmail. You might find phone's menu a bit useless when you can get to anything from home screen with smart dialing.

Start menu : another way to organize your apps, you can locate an app using smart dialing, and place the app in start menu or home screen shortcut easily. And we support sub-folder in start menu.

MyFav: we scan your call logs automatically. and place the people you call/text most frequently in MyFav feature, on the home screen's right selection key.(of course you can change this with any app you want).press left/right key in this, you can see your most used apps,too.

vApps: yeah, we include a mini app store , the seventh shortcut. not too many apps for now(tell us what you want to see here), we want to gather the best free apps here, all fit your phone model(we test and organize them by screen resolution, mr/fp1/fp2 etc, so you don't have to).just one click to download, auto install to E: , dead simple.(the list is updated automatically , so check in once in a while).

New app popup: after a new app is installed, you would see a popup asking if you would like to run it now. save you time digging in to menu to find it.

Web directory: Click web browser, you'll see our directory page. all most popular mobile sites(hopefully). If you don't like it, just turn it off in Start-Settings-More

Keypad Lock: sorry the system's settings would not work, please setup again in vHome.Lock is easy: Start-Lock, much better than old way. Press end key twice to unlock.

Connection: by default,vHome update weather/news each hour, 9:00-23:00 (no update if you disable news and weather), change this in Start-Settings-Connection to suit your needs.

vHome works with most S60 (including 320*240 models like E71, but not 3250,N91,5500)

For E series,you may find holding home button would not work, install a task manager soft like Jbak will solve this.

vHome does not replace original home screen, we just place another layer on top of it, so when you quit Menu, you would see the screen splash to 'old' home screen first, also when calling. We'll work on this in the future.

About power consumption , we did many tests using Nokia Energy Profiler, vHome does not consume more power, except when downloading weather/news data.

With big clock turned on, you may find wall paper do not display properly with some themes, we're working on this.

Now that I’ve shown you how easy it is to sign your own applications, I couldn’t wait to show you this awesome application that I found for threaded messaging on S60 – the way it should be done. Most of you have probably tried out Nokia’s rubbish Conversation application that merely presents your texts in a threaded view, but doesn’t integrate into the phone at all. Free-iSMS changes all that, and it works awesomely.

The single best thing about Free-iSMS is that it takes over for the default messaging system, including for new message notifications. it’s popped up over everything else, and not only says I have a new message, but also shows me the sender’s name (if they’re in my address book) as well as their phone number. Definitely handy information, and when you press the center d-pad or the left softkey, you’re taken straight into the Free-iSMS application.
Below is an idea of what the conversation view looks like. The white bubbles coming from the left are those from the sender, while the green ones coming from the right are my responses. You can also see the blue one – that’s a message that hasn’t been read yet. What’s also great about this is that after a few moments of that blue message being onscreen, it’s automatically marked as read and changed to white – without me having to click to open it or anything. Definitely a better user-experience than Nokia’s silly Conversation application offers.

Another great feature of Free-iSMS is the ability to setup scheduled SMS. This is something that S60 has needed for a long time, for sure. You can set the receiver number, which is kind of neat for prank SMS, and then you can set the content of the message. Below that you can choose the specific time and date to send the message. You can also send fake SMS, if you want to have a message pop up on your phone at a preset time.

I strongly recommend you hacking your phone to install these games, it requires the HelioOX2 application, a dev cert which can be obtained from this site just follow the instructions on the website, submit your imei number which is a 15-digit number obtained by pressing *#06# on your standby, home or idle screen. Then come back a day later re-enter your imei number. a download the first two links on the top of the page. The first file contains the dev cert the second contains the signing application...change the language to english...extract the content of the first file which the file name is in numbers and then the signer...open the signer (SIGN TOOLS)...check the first tab (SIGN)...in the first the box chose the certificate file and the second the application you wish to sign like HelioOX2...then click sign and viola you have a signed application for your phone...transfer to your phone..install the application and open it..accept all. You can try signing the N-gage app, or though it should install without signing..

it you get trial notification try any key the application will then close,, just reopen it

NIGERIA MAPS ON YOUR MOBILE

Yeah People you probably heard of it, and it is definitely true (having had a go at it). You can have the entire map of Nigeria (albeit the limitations) in your mobile phone.
At present it is limited to just Nokia maps, Garmin and Google maps. The Nokia map and Garmin map lets you hold an offline copy of the map in your phones memory or memory card. While Google map requires internet connection to achieve similar results.
They all let navigate and find all way around place you have never actually been to before, and they can navigate you across all interstate roads. it can direct from lagos to maiduguri, owerri, port harcourt and where ever you may need to go in Nigeria and even to Cotonu.

The cost of having these map sets vary Google maps is free to download (albeit the connection cost), Nokia Maps is also free and also downloading the maps is free, whilst Garmin cost a little to obtain (i have to say it is worth the cost).
To activate the voice guidance or navigation on Nokia map requires an annual set-up, whilst Garmin offers a one time set up (though Nokia also offers lifetime navigation too). And they both offer real time directions to your destination.

The Garmin maps offers a little more than the Nokia map as it is more recent than the Nokia map and also have a rich set of points of interest including locations of Banks, Restaurants, Entertainment venues (Silverbird galleria included) and i would have to applaud the work doone here.
